Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
TripTrack (triptrack.to) is a family trip planner. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what the product needs to work, we don't run ads or analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a hashed password (we store a bcrypt hash, never the password itself). Optionally a profile photo, username, and date of birth if you choose to add them.
- Trip content — trips, destinations, activities, schedules, RSVPs, comments, travel legs, accommodations, and costs that you and your trip members create.
- Party members — names, ages, and carer status of household members you add for cost calculations. These may include children. Party members are visible only to you and, where relevant, to members of your trips — never publicly, and we use them for nothing other than showing costs.
- Uploads — profile photos and trip cover images you upload.
- Session cookie — a single encrypted cookie that keeps you signed in. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
What we don't collect
- No advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics.
- No payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
- No location tracking; destinations are only what you type in.
Third-party services
Some features send limited data to external services to work:
- Geoapify — place-search text you type when picking a destination or activity location.
- Pexels — the destination name, to find a cover photo when a trip has none.
- Stripe — payment processing if you upgrade a trip to Pro. Card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Google Gemini — if you use the AI chat assistant, the messages you send it and relevant trip context are processed by Google's API to generate replies.
Each of these receives only what the feature needs, and none of them receive your party members' details.
Public profiles
Profiles are private by default. If you enable a public profile in Settings, the stats you choose (countries visited, past destinations) become visible at your profile URL. You can turn this off at any time.
Who can see your trip data
Trip content is shared with the members of that trip — that's the point of the app. Anyone with a trip's invite link can see the trip's name and cover photo on the join page before joining. Site administrators can access data for support and moderation.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its data, contact us at the address below and we'll remove it. Deleted activities are retained briefly in soft-deleted form and then purged.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under UK/EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data. Contact us and we'll help.

Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
